Meet the Instructors

Dan Courter - Captain Dan has been sailing for over 40 years, in dinghies, Hobie cats and keel boats up to 54 feet.  He holds a 50 Ton Master Captain’s license and an ASA Instructor certificate.

He is an avid racer, primarily on J105s and Olsen 911s. He also owns a Catalina 30 on which he won the 2004 and 2009 Catalina 30 Nationals.  He has many other licenses and interests but his first love has always been sailing, “Nothing is as magical as sailing, and my all time favorite is sailing under a full moon at night.”

George Fay - Captain George began his teaching career in the early 1990s as a volunteer instructor for the Sea Scouts. By this time he knew he enjoyed sailing in all its forms, cruising, racing, and instructing, so he got his 100 ton USCG License and started teaching. He's been a popular and welcome addition to our staff. So come on over, sign up for lessons and let George show you how much fun sailing can be.
